CONFERENCE SPEAKER

Ray McCaffrey, PhD.

Raymond McCaffrey is a licensed psychologist in the state of Oklahoma and is a certified Health Services Provider. He has 45 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families including 28 years with the Oklahoma State Department of Health Child Guidance Clinics. He retired from the Health Department in 2005 and began working full time in the private practice he had maintained on a part time basis since 1986. He is a faculty member of a doctoral training program for psychologists and has presented seminars focusing on attachment, childhood trauma, learning disabilities, attention-deficit disorder, and a child’s ability to learn and regulate their behavior. Dr. McCaffrey is a former regional consultant for Head Start programs. He conducts evaluations for a variety of neurodevelopmental, psychological and psychiatric disorders as well as, on occasion, for the courts.

This is a full day conference. Ethics and Supervision will be woven into the presentation throughtout the day.
The Integrated Neurodevelopmental Assessment System will be briefly reviewed. INAS has identified five diagnostic nodes. Two of these areas, affect dysregulation and exposure to trauma, will be investigated by way of the primary neurological mechanism that connects them, the stress response system. Diagnostic and treatment considerations will be explored with an eye toward ethical and supervisory concerns in each arena. Informal diagnostic and treatment tools will be part of the handout packet.
